OS38: Didi Taihuttu – Bitcoin, Minimalism & Prioritizing Freedom

Posted on

After building the complete picture of happiness sold to each of us by society, Didi Taihuttu was more stressed and worn-out than ever. Upon realizing this, he didn’t get angry. Quite simply, he sold it all back in an effort to reclaim his and his family’s freedom. Unlike many who spend their lives addicted to the accumulation of material goods, Didi was able to take a step back and see that – in fact – the “stuff” was taking away from his happiness, creating more stress, worry and anxiety. So, he sold everything and with his wife & 3 girls, traveled the world. But, the question remained – what to do with all the money made? In keeping with his unconventional pattern of defying the norm, Didi invested all of it – every last dime – in cryptocurrencies. And this has turned him into a fascinating story for the media and an inspiration for us. This episode of the Ownstream Podcast features Didi and his story, but also reveals – in laymen’s terms – what cryptocurrencies are (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc), clarifies the brilliance of the blockchain and, most importantly, reveals what drives him and his family more than anything else (and how their motivation has nothing to do with making money). Enjoy!

OS37: Stephen & Theresa – Van Life with Baby, Repatterning, Bentinho & More

Posted on

So, what is it like living in a van for 3 months? Where did we go and what did we learn? Where are we off to next. And, how did our 1-year old daughter handle the #vanlife lifestyle? (amazingly well, but there’s more) We’re back in San Diego for a few weeks and are excited to share what we have learned thus far and hopefully inspire you to take a bold leap out of the mainstream path and create something uniquely your own. We have found that by following our highest excitement (often with no idea what awaits us down the path) that we are profoundly provided for, are supported in every way, and are called further and further into deeper union with our true “Self”. Indeed, what started as a journey into nature and the wild with the aim to cut all ties to our old lifestyle and inquire more deeply into how we truly wanted to live (a notion we call “repatterning”) evolved into a powerful spiritual adventure bringing us into greater connection with each other and, most importantly, to our selves. Now, after this wonderful time on the road, we are more clear than ever on how to serve, and are being steered towards a breathtaking future that we could not have possibly dreamed of prior to our van life journey. Ultimately, we have found remarkable clarity by leaping into the unknown and trust more than ever before, that the universe truly has our back…and yours too. Enjoy!

OS32: Sara Warden – Travel, World Schooling & Raising Global Citizens

Posted on

When Sara Warden’s husband landed a great job in Morocco, they jumped at the opportunity. They were done with New York City, and felt the call to take their two kids to another country enabling them to directly learn about another culture and way of life. Thus begins Sara and her family’s amazing journey with world schooling and living life outside of the box. They have since traveled to many countries, learning and experiencing great art, culture, language and more. This radically different approach to education has also caused Sara to question many other “normal” aspects of western life too: social media, mobile devices, food…you name it. Like many other parents, Sara has found the traditional way of educating her kids to be lacking and that the world schooling approach has awakened a natural, organic love of learning in her kids. In this episode of the Ownstream Podcast, we discuss her experiences with traveling with her kids, how world schooling works for them and how it has opened up an entirely new way of life for her and her family. Namely, a life more fully aligned with their values and excitement, and the wish to inspire others to do to the same. Enjoy!

OS24: Kimberly & Theo Hanson – How They Beat Cancer & Got Busy Living

Posted on

It might be the most dreaded word in the western world – cancer. Many live in sheer terror at receiving this diagnosis from their doctor, certain it means death or a highly compromised life going forward. Modern medicine’s approach is to remove the tumor and then, by way of radiation and chemotherapy, eliminate any remaining cancerous tissues before these toxic treatments kill the person. A race, in other words, where only the strong survive. Many now are finding different approaches to this dreaded condition and finding not only success in reversing the disease, but a wildly new and vibrant lease on life. Enter Kimberly and Theo Hanson, who used a special juicing protocol to reverse her breast cancer and help him to lose over 100 lbs. The two of them now are on a mission to share their powerful message, inspire others and change the conversation about cancer from treating the symptom (tumors) to changing the toxic lifestyle which creates these frightening symbols of a culture gone awry. Enjoy!
